Bio: Dionne A. Dougall
Dionne A. Dougall is President and CEO of 9th Sign Communications, Inc., a talent, event and publicity management company that supports clients who work for the greater good and seek to improve the human condition physically, mentally and spiritually. Much of her work is with clients in the health care, sports and holistic communities—areas of particular personal interest to her.
She brings more than 14 years of communications experience in strategic planning, public and media relations, event planning, partnership building, image consulting, crisis management, and one-on-one coaching. She has garnered publicity coverage on behalf of her clients in international, national, regional, local and trade print, broadcast, syndicated, and online press.
Her expertise spans from managing many broad-scale events (e.g. fundraisers, media tours, health summits, book signings and press conferences) to leading community relations projects, developing crisis communications strategies, and training individuals and groups to conduct media interviews and make effective presentations.
Dionne is well known for her ability to go above and beyond the expectations of her clients. She has worked with a variety of high-profile and high-level individuals, including celebrity personalities, elected officials, authors, and top-ranked executives.
The clients she typically attracts are most interested in motivating, healing, educating, elevating and inspiring the masses. Her role is to use individually-tailored, creative and strategic approaches to help them manifest the goals they want to achieve for the betterment of humanity.
Prior to launching 9th Sign Communications, Dionne spent several years in a variety of leadership positions implementing national communications projects and campaigns, and providing strategic guidance and public relations support to large corporations, institutions, established philanthropies, national and community organizations, and non-profits. Some have included Anheuser-Busch, Inc., US West Communications, Air Tran Airways (formerly ValuJet Airlines), American Hospital Association, The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, Harvard School of Public Health, and The Annie E. Casey Foundation.
Dionne is a current member and former Board Chair of the Washington, DC chapter of Women in Sports and Events (WISE), and member of the Association for Research and Enlightenment. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications from the University of Maryland, College Park.
